Community Partners
The housing
authority works with its local community partners to develop
housing programs for the special needs population and to
assist participants in obtaining adequate housing.
Seaside
Duplex and Warrenton Beach House:
Located in Clatsop County the units were
developed with state dollars for developmentally disabled
individuals. Coast Rehabilitation Services provides services
to residence.
Ready to
Rent:
A program
obtained from the Housing Center of Portland by Columbia
Community Action Team, Inc. The program is designed to help
families with poor rental and credit histories get a second
chance to secure suitable rental units. Clatsop Community
Action, Clatsop County Housing Authority and the housing
authority provides teachers and materials and are teaching
classes for the Women’s Resource Center and DHS TANF program,
among other community programs.
Camp
Rosenbaum:
Each
year the housing authority sends 4 kids to Camp Rosenbaum. The
camp is sponsored by the Housing Authority of Portland and is
a fantastic opportunity for kids.
Several of our staff serve on local governing
boards i.e. Workforce Investment, Coastal Family Health Center
and One-Stop, Clatsop County Landlord Association and various
committees through out the tri-county area involving housing
issues for community partners and their clientele.
The Glade:
The housing authority
is working with Clatsop Behavioral Health Care to develop a 12
unit complex of studio and 1-bedroon units in Warrenton, OR
for chronically mentally ill at affordable rents. There will
be on-site supervision as well as laundry facilities and
community room. Tenants will only be accepted with the
recommendation and support of Clatsop Behavioral Health Care.
The housing authority hopes to have this complex built in
2010.
